Kade Mendelowitz<\/strong> is the Lighting Designer and Technical Director for the University of Alaska Fairbanks<\/a> Department of\u00a0Theatre\u00a0& Film<\/a><\/strong>, where he is a Professor.\u00a0 Originally from New York, Kade has authored two cross-platform (Mac and Windows) multimedia titles which teach about theatre design<\/a> while you control the pace.\u00a0 His titles are distributed through Stage Research, and are available through Amazon.com<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Kade holds an MFA in theatre design from Temple University<\/strong> (Philadelphia) and a BFA from SUNY New Paltz<\/strong> (New York).\u00a0 Kade grew up on the Lower East Side in New York, New York and attended the High School of Art & Design<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

He has designed the set and lighting for KTVF<\/strong>‘s (Alaska NBC <\/strong>affiliate) news studio, lighting for the North Star Ballet Company<\/strong> (Nutcracker, Cinderella, Coppelia, Snow White, Alice in Wonderland<\/em>…), Fairbanks Light Opera Theatre company<\/strong> (Les Miserables<\/a>, Secret Garden, Guys and Dolls, She Loves Me<\/em>…), Fairbanks Drama Association<\/strong> (Pants on Fire, Barking Sharks<\/em>…) Opera Fairbanks<\/b> (Help! Help! The Globolinks<\/a>)\u00a0<\/em>and many productions at the University of Alaska Fairbanks<\/strong> (Stop Kiss<\/a>, Cabaret, TUMA, The Laramie Project<\/em>…).<\/p>\n

He recently completed “A Night for Conversation”<\/strong><\/em> – a movie he wrote and directed in 2019.\u00a0 He created, wrote and produced “Water Stealers<\/a>“<\/strong><\/em> – an interactive sci-fi video adventure which combines live actors, animation, and put the viewer in control (which won the Platinum: Best in Show<\/strong><\/em> Aurora Award for 2004<\/strong>).\u00a0 He wrote and directed an interactive “Alice in Wonderland”<\/em><\/strong> in which the audience followed Alice and the White Rabbit down the rabbit hole – accompanying them on their adventures!<\/p>\n
